A Full Moon poya day celebrated on a low key although Buddhist
devotees will observe sill and engage in religious activities
Some of Colombo’s main streets take on a festival atmosphere
in August where the capital’s main Hindu festival takes
place and ornately decorated Vel Chariot makes its annual trip
carrying the weapons of God Skanda from one temple to the other.
